"I don't understand how you can be 'dignified' about a process
that introduces scents into a theatre."
- Michael Todd, Jr., director of Scent of Mystery
THE SCENT TECHNICIANS
MEGAN DICKERSON is an independent Boston-based curator who can remember the smell of her grandmother's chicken soup better than the episodes of Murder She Wrote they watched together. A member of theBerwick Research Institute artist collective, she co-curates the Bumpkin Island Art Encampment,Boston's only five-day utopian island art experiment. When not projecting scent into public places, Megan manages community partnerships atBoston Children's Museum, where she works with fantastic young people to project movies on milk bottles, set tables for Boston's Longest Dinner Parties, and make hands-on learning accessible to all. Her favorite smells, at the moment, tend toward the bittersweet: grapefruit mixed with habaƱero, Heavenly Shoulders perfume and kaffir lime.
BRIDGET MATROS is an artist, musician, educator, and supertasterwith hypersensitive olfactory capacities. She has better dream-recall than waking-life memory, and is fascinated by the role smells play in both realms. Her favorite smells include a pink light bulb-shaped eraser from 2nd grade and Old Spice deodorant. www.bridgetmatros.com
